Build a foundation in drawing and form, and sharpen your creativity

In junior and senior high school, students’ understanding and judgment grow, and they can move on to deeper work in painting and 3D art. The foundation of painting is depicting space and objects on paper — that is, mastering the principles and techniques for translating three dimensions into two. Understanding three dimensions also calls for a sculptural approach, through three-dimensional work. Painting and making require objectivity and planning, but flexibility of thought — knowing what you want to draw and make — matters just as much. So let’s treasure free imagination, build the foundations of drawing and form needed to communicate and express it, and sharpen your creativity.

We also prepare students for art high school entrance exams

For art high schools with a practical exam, the balance between academic and practical scores is key. Admission is decided on the combined score, so being good at drawing won’t get you there if you struggle academically — and the reverse is also true. Ideally, start drawing regularly, about once a week, from the first year of junior high, and build your foundation over time. Watercolor can be learned intensively from the third year. School reports also carry great weight, so put effort into your studies and school activities every day. And of course, GAJYUKU prepares students for art high school entrance exams.

Some students have attended from the Preschool Class all the way through high school

They say persistence pays off — but more than that, finding something you can throw yourself into and keep doing is a wonderful thing. At GAJYUKU, some students have stayed with us from the Preschool Class all the way through high school.

No two forms of expression are the same

In painting and 3D art, being different from others is what matters most. Drawing out each child’s individuality and turning it into expression requires individual guidance.
That is why the Teen Class is limited to 6 students, staffed according to its size, so we can fully support every student’s creative work.
