Duties Teaching hands-on painting and 3D art to preschool and elementary children
Location Setagaya (Youga, Kami-Youga, Karasuyama), Tama (Seiseki-Sakuragaoka), Mitaka (Mitaka), Meguro (Musashi-Koyama), Shinjuku (Mejiro, Higashi-Nakano), Ota (Den-en-Chofu), Koto (Toyosu, Monzen-nakacho), Sumida (Kikukawa), Nerima (Nerima) and others
Working days & hours From about 2 days a week
*Days and hours by arrangement (weekdays 15:00–19:30, 1–2 lessons; weekends 8:30–17:30, 1–4 lessons)
Hourly pay ¥1,226–¥1,600
e.g. per lesson: ¥3,269–¥4,267 (90-minute lesson + 70 minutes of preparation and clean-up = 160 minutes in total; travel expenses paid at cost)
Requirements You share GAJYUKU’s educational philosophy; you are eager to learn about art education for children through practice; you can take responsibility for teaching as a class instructor and work with us for the long term; you have graduated from (or completed graduate studies at), or are currently enrolled at, an art university such as Tokyo University of the Arts, Musashino Art University, Tama Art University, Tokyo Zokei University or Joshibi University of Art and Design; and you intend to keep making your own work.
Training period After a training period of about 3–6 months, you will take charge of your own class.
