Children’s painting & 3D art classes in Seiseki-Sakuragaoka
An 8-minute walk from the West Exit of Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Station on the Keio Line (near the Tama River and Ono Shrine). An art school where children from age 3 through elementary, junior high and high school learn painting, 3D art and arts & crafts in a dedicated studio. Opened in 2007, this is GAJYUKU’s founding studio, attended by children from Tama, Seiseki-Sakuragaoka, Hino and Fuchu. What we value at Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Studio
GAJYUKU teaches hands-on painting and 3D art according to the same educational approach at every studio. Our goal is not a “polished” piece of work or “being good at it.” We believe the joy and sense of achievement that come from making something with their own hands is what builds children’s confidence. We don’t make everyone keep in step; we value time when each child can enjoy creating at their own pace. What matters is not the finished piece but what children feel, discover and think along the way. The process itself is the artwork. And throughout the year, the children immerse themselves in that creative process as they work toward our annual exhibition. Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Studio was originally built as our founder’s atelier. The basement level (B1F) of this reinforced-concrete building stays at a steady temperature all year round and is quiet, which makes it an ideal studio for making art. Our head office is on the 1st and 2nd floors, so if you have any concerns, we can help you in person.Small classes, so we can give every child our attention
To bring out each child’s individuality, Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Studio limits classes to 10 children and staffs each class according to its size. Classes are taught by art specialists who work as artists, designers and illustrators.Who it’s for & classes
