A 4-minute walk from Morishita Station on the Toei Shinjuku and Oedo lines (8 minutes from Kikukawa Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, 17 minutes from Ryogoku Station on the JR Sobu Line). An art school where children from age 3 through elementary, junior high and high school learn painting, 3D art and arts & crafts in a dedicated studio. Since opening in 2015, it has welcomed children from Kikukawa, Morishita and Ryogoku. What we value at Kikukawa Studio
GAJYUKU teaches hands-on painting and 3D art according to the same educational approach at every studio. Our goal is not a “polished” piece of work or “being good at it.” We believe the joy and sense of achievement that come from making something with their own hands is what builds children’s confidence. We don’t make everyone keep in step; we value time when each child can enjoy creating at their own pace. What matters is not the finished piece but what children feel, discover and think along the way. The process itself is the artwork. And throughout the year, the children immerse themselves in that creative process as they work toward our annual exhibition.Small classes, so we can give every child our attention
To bring out each child’s individuality, Kikukawa Studio limits classes to 10 children and staffs each class according to its size. Classes are taught by art specialists who work as artists, designers and illustrators.Who it’s for & classes
